What we do
The Kalino Project
We co-create a show from scratch, invent the characters together, work on the story and write our own songs. Together, throughout the year and on stage. For people who love to sing, to dance, and to work with others to create magic. No experience needed: our coaches guide you all along the way. So even if you think you can’t sing or have a bit of a stage fright: don’t worry! We focus on a creating a safe and fun environment for everybody.
After 2 eventful years and 2 beautiful shows, the Kalino Project is taking a little break so we can reinvent it and make sure we can provide our cast with all the support and learning tools they need. In the meantime, please follow KalinoBrussels on youtube to watch the recordings of the show and/or join Vokalino to stay involved.
This is how we work
The first trimester we focus on co-creation: we create storylines and characters, write the script and create the songs. At the same time, we work on singing technique and do theatre exercices and various other workshops (movement, rhythm, …).
As from January, we start the ‘real rehearsals ‘ of our home made musical. Here, the focus is more on singing, acting and dancing.
We perform our co-created show on stage during the month of June.
Personal Buddy
Are you worried because you have no experience? Do you think you’re tone deaf? Don’t worry, we’ll help you overcome whatever it is you’re wrestling with. You’ll be assigned a personal buddy who will guide you every step of the way. And you’ll also be helped by the rest of the Kalino Crew. We focus on giving positive feedback and learning from each other.
What we really care about
We’re all about doing things right. For the right reasons. To improve ourselves. To grow as human beings. To rise above ourselves (not others). We care about singing, about fun, about learning from each other, about each other. We believe that every human being is a unique individual – and deserves to be treated as such. We don’t care for feeling better than others, for harsh opinions or unkind words. We chose transparency, honesty, passion, and above all – respect.
How Kalino Makes a Difference
We’re kind, but we also believe in hard work. In professionalism. Even if we’re amateurs. Yes, we’re professional amateurs. This is why we chose to work with professional coaches that share our values. Throughout the year, we’ll invite different coaches and organize different workshops, depending on the needs and interests of the group. We may work on confidence, on articulation, on dance, on movement, on everything that you may need to grow as a performer.
